sleeping and dreaming

my grandmother, before marriage. still carefree without worries. no obligation to make dinner, hang laundry, feed the cows, chase and slaughter chickens, put up with televised soccer games, and pretend that her husband's many infidelities were just an innocent distraction. but the wheels turned when impotence came knocking. the rules were hers again.

the eccentric thief and a bowl with greens

not really a thief in a literal sense....his loyal customers call him that way, it is not exactly known why he became the thief. he cooks up a storm in a small hidden alleyway in a tiny kitchen, chopping away, frying, swearing loudly, making questionable jokes, and always a cigarette dangling from his mouth, but no one minds. as soon as he opens shop, the hungry come in droves. his claim to fame? beans (foul) and pickled eggplants.
